Advert opens with view from above of a busy bar as a young man with long hair returns from the bar to join a group of three other young men at a table. Scouse accented VO from perspective of young man's internal monologue indicates the group are in a band together, reflects on hectic schedule and recent experiences of playing gigs in Manchester, Bristol and Bradford. Cut to view of man entering bar shouting "right, lads, you're on" as the group hurriedly finish their drinks and exit the bar. VO: "You'll be pleased to know that our beer is in every local in Britain. Just in case your work takes you away from home." Advert concludes with view of band running into a venue. Colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. The advertisement opens with an arm drawn from shot to reveal a pub interior with a barman talking to a man sitting and drinking at the bar. The drinker says to the barman and two other bar-side drinkers, ‘I wonder what’s in a Guinness’, causing everyone in the pub to momentarily stop and look at him. As each of the drinkers sips from goblets of Guinness, the two companions list the natural ingredients of the drink – yeast, hops, barley, water – before laughing. Advert opens with view of bar interior as landlord asks a young barman - identified as Mike - to get a couple of pints of Guinness ready as "the horse will be here in a minute". Close up shot of Mike pouring a pint of Draught Guinness into a Waterford tankard. Cut to sound of bells as a pantomine horse proceeds to enter the bar, taking off its costume as two men emerge from beneath, remarking how hot it is in there. Both men drink their pints quickly, as the barman reaches out his hand for payment. One end of the hourse produces a coin to toss, as the other sniggers while asking him "heads or tails". Colour television commercial for Draught Guinness. Advert opens with view of six men walking up a street towards the pub carrying wicker pigeon baskets. One of the older men sypathises with a younger man on the loss of his bird, and sees this as evidence of the fact that "us old ones can still teach you youngsters a thing or two about pigeons". He remarks condescendingly: "Better luck next time". The men enter a pub, and camera cuts to shot of barmaid retrieving a message from a white carrier pigeon reading '3 pints. 12 o clock'. The younger men are served their pints immediately and the barmaid hands the 'lost' pigeon back to its owner, as the older men struggle to place their order at the busy bar. Young man nods to the older men and remarks "better luck next time", as the older men look on confused. Agency: JWT.

The other man tells him to wait as he leaves the bar momentarily. Cut to view of landlord answering the phone behind the bar and appears to take a drinks order consisting of two bottles of Guinness. The other man re-emerges from outside and announces that their order is waiting for them, they simply need to go and get it at the bar. Both men reach for their Wellington goblets at the bar as the landlord, realising what they've done, wags a figure at them, saying "naughty". Advert concldues with shot of men drinking from glasses. Advert opens with first person perspective of a person [identified as 'Sam' by VO] entering a bar, looking around to find they are being stared at by male patrons, approaching the counter, and ordering from the barman who expresses a look of vague surprise as he pours a bottle of Guinness into a glass in response. VO: "When Sam called into The Duke, the regulars were a bit surprised. And when Sam went straight to the bar and ordered a bottle of Guinness, well they couldn't believe their ears." Cut to view of a young woman [Sam] taking a seat at a table in the bar and lifting the glass to drink from. VO: "But she enjoys that clean, dry taste. And Sam believes a woman's place is where she pleases." A man enters the bar and takes a seat beside her while apologising for being late as he got 'held up'. Advert opens as camera pans left to show pints of Draught Guinness in Waterford tankards lined up on a bar counter as a barmaid points to each one while saying the name of a different member of a football team. Audio of football match in progress outside bar. Cut to view of bar showing pints lined up in a row and view of square Draught Guinness fount with red spout and handle affixed to counter. A single player stands at the end of the bar, explaining to the barmaid that he came off early as he is injured. The player holds up a bandaged finger, reaches for his glass, and proceeds to exclaim in pain as he lifts it to his mouth. VO: "When you're getting them in, remember there's one beer that keeps its head even through extra time." The player drinks deeply before stopping to remark, with a mischievous smile, "...tragedy, really". Agency: JWT.

If you want to you can whistle or hum, make new friends or tell a joke. But Guinness drinkers like to watch. Watch as the white part forms mysteriously out of the depths of the white part. Colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Advert opens as a young man orders two bottles of Guinness for he and his friend from a young, inexperienced, blonde barmaid in a bar. The barmaid proceeds to carelessly pour the first bottle into a Wellington goblet before she is stopped by the men. She apologises for the fact that she's never poured a Guinness before. One of the men takes a bottle and glass and shows her how to pour, "slow and easy", before telling her to have another go. The barmaid attempts several pours before finally producing the perfect glass of Guinness. Barmaid looks anxiously at group of partially poured bottles and glasses on the counter and wonders what she will do with them. Advert concludes as two men take a drink, telling her not to worry and that they'll look after the bottles for her. Agency: JWT.
