End of the Day

Harp television advertisement 'End of the Day' in which workers in an office end their day with a Harp lager. Colour advert opens with a close-up of a clock as it reaches 5.30pm. In a busy office, a group of workers put the finishing touches to their typing and filing before finishing up for the day. One man, however, is handed a package marked ‘Urgent’, and despairingly watches his colleagues leave him behind in the office. The other office workers are shown at home as they shower, shave, and prepare themselves for a night out. A bedside clock reads 9.00, as a jingle begins: ‘At the end of the day, when your time’s your own, it’s nice to unwind with the kind of people you know.’ The office workers drink together in a pub, eventually joined by their colleague who has finally finished his extra work.
