A man watches her from the other side of the counter as the VO narrates the experience of drinking Guinness for the first time. Advert concludes as man rejoins his friends at a table and drinks from a Waterford tankard while still watching the barmaid. VO: "You've never tasted a beer that tastes so much like a beer. Colour television commercial for Draught Guinness. Advert opens with view of two young men entering a cocktail bar. They approach the bar and order two pints of Guinness before the barmaid alludes to cocktail lounge rules stating no draught or bottled beers. One of the men orders a 'cocktail Guinness', and the barmaid reluctantly acquiesces. Cut to view of barmaid bringing two pints of Draught Guinness in Waterford tankards to their table, only for the men to realise that the barmaid has placed a maraschino cherry cocktail stick in each. Advert concludes with two girls walking up behind them and looking shocked to see them drinking 'cocktail' Guinness. Voiceover: "Today you can buy our pint in most of the bars in Britain, if you ask nicely". Won silver at British Film Festival in 1972. The first man asks the second to shut his eyes and pours a bottle of Guinness into a Wellington goblet before handing it to him. The second man blind tastes it and pronounces it as alright, and "not a bad drop of beer". Advert concludes with second man opening his eyes, seeing that the drink is Guinness and exclaiming: "Guinness? I don't like Guinness!". Won silver at British Film Festival in 1972. They struggle to pronounce the word 'Guinness' and all three laugh at the situation as the barmaid struggles to understand their order. Cut to view of barman pouring a Draught Guinness in the pub interior. The foreigners see this and point excitedly to show what they want. Barmaid laughts as she finally understands. Close up Draught Guinness being poured into Waterford tankard. Advert concludes with view of two foreigners sitting beneath a Guinness sun umbrella enjoing their pints and checking out a passing girl. Colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Advert opens with shot of man entering a bar before being accosted by an invisble interviewer. Interviewer asks man if he's ever had a bottle of Guinness in this particular bar before, and offers to buy him one when the man reponds 'no'. Man sits at bar and drinks from a Wellington glass of Guinness before announcing that he never drinks anything else. When the interviewer expresses confusion, he explains that he only just moved to the area, making his original statement technically true. Advert concludes with freeze frame of man drinking and caption: "It's a good move". Talent: Brian Croucher, Agency: JWT.

Colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Advert opens with view of presenter holding a microphone and Wellington goblet as the camera pans out to reveal a small crowd around him. He remarks that a great many people think that if they sing you a song, you'll buy something. With a nod to the crowd, music begins and four men stand up, breaking into a rendition of "The Guinness Song".: "Give me that old dark blue, and nothing else will do... 'Cause Guinness is the beer for me". Advert concludes as camera cuts to presenter who takes a drink and asks the viewer: "Do you think that sold a lot of Guinness?". Advert opens with view of men drinking Guinness in a sunny beer garden as camera zooms out to reveal a couple sitting on the opposite bank of the river. The woman admires the ducks and leans in against the man, referred to as Trevor, as Trevor suddenly catches sight of the men in the beer garden and becomes distracted. Cut to close up of man in beer garden drinking Guinness. Advert concludes as woman is seen lying down seemingly talking to Trevor, as camera pans out to reveal Trevor wading across the river in the direction of the beer garden, leaving the girl behind on the bank. The barman struggles to hear over the sound of music as they point to a bottle of Guinness already on the bar to indicate his order. Shots of men pouring and enjoying their Guinness as they watch the band, still struggling to hear each other talk. Band finishes playing just as one man shouts 'marvellous' at the top of his voice. Advert concludes with entire club turning towards him in silence as both men turn towards the bar again in shame. Won silver at British Film Festival in 1972. Advert opens with view of 'The Royal Standard of England' pub exterior featuring people drinking under Guinness sun umbrellas before zooming in on two friends walking in search of a cold Guinness. One man expresses doubt that they will find it in this pub but the other wagers one pound that they will. Cut to shot of two men appraoching the bar and ordering two bottles of cold Guinness. The barmaid produces one cold Guinness from the cooler and pours it into a branded Wellington goblet as the second man pays up after losing the wager. The barmaid announces that this was the last cold bottle, and the first man hesitates before returning the wager in return for the only cold Guinness Guinness.
