Dockyard (Republic of Ireland version)

Harp television advertisement 'Dockyard' from the 'Working up a Thirst' campaign in which workers in a ship building yard end their day with a Harp lager. Colour advert opens with a shot of the upper decks of a large modern ship. A series of scenes show men working on the welding and construction of the ship, as a jingle begins: ‘You’ve been working up a thirst that’s strong and sharp, you’ve been working all the day, so have a Harp.’ The scenes in the shipyard are intercut with the Harp Lager logo. The men finish work and descend a stairs, before some of them are seen entering a pub, and a voiceover says ‘When the days’ work is done, here’s the one you want.’ Two of the workers raise their pint glasses to each other and begin drinking as the song finishes: ‘There’s a pint of satisfaction in a Harp’. The advert concludes with the two men drinking, as a caption reads: ‘Harp - a pint of satisfaction’. Credits: Director - M. Colbert, Camera - Bestick Williams, Geoff Axtell f/x lab.
