Black and white television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Advert opens with scrollings shots featuring a baby's bottle, a bottle of milk, a soda bottle, and a tankard of beer - all meant to depict the various 'ages of man', with accompanying soundscapes. Advert concludes with a shot of Guinness being poured from a bottle into a Victoria goblet, with soundscape featuring gentle chatter of voices in the background. VO: "It's Good to Grow Up". Agency: JWT. Won first prize in the alcoholic drinks section of the British Television Awards organised by the ‘Television Mail’.

Animated colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Opens with title card reading: "Guinness at the Albert Hall". Opens with shot of conductor and choir. Choir begins singing song in the style of Handel's 'Allelujah Chorus" using the words "Guinness gives you strength". The conductor, despite being extremely small, proceeds to lift and carry members of the choir much larger than him. After drinking a glass of Guinness, he proceeds to lift the entire choir at once. Concludes with view of conductor holding choir aloft in a pyramid shape. Won a diploma at the 1962 Venice Film Festival. Agency: SH Bensons Ltd. Production company: Richard Williams Animation Ltd. Animated black and white television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Advert opens with a sergeant major admonishing three of his troops for their lacklustre appearance during parade. All three explain they are feeling tired in some way. Sergeant major explains that Guinness gives you strength and they all brighten up at the thought. All four state they they feel like a Guinness, and each of them turn into a pint of Guinness accordingly. Advert concludes with shot of dancing pint glasses in tune to 'Guinness Gives You Strenth' song. Includes caption: "Guinness gives you strengft" [sic]. Agency: SH Bensons Ltd.

Guinness television advert entitled 'Cucumber', depicting consumers enjoying take-home bottles of Guinness in a variety of settings. Advert opens with a six-pack of Guinness bottles opening, revealing a suburban house at night with partygoers seen in cameo through the windows. Over upbeat music, a voiceover begins ‘You can open up a party with Guinness…’ A pixilated goblet of Guinness sits between the paddles of an electronic table-tennis game and reduces in content as the game progresses. In illuminated outline, a six-pack sits on top of a television set, dissolving to the animated six-pack. This again opens, to reveal the galloping feet and jockey of a horse race in close-up. The six-pack opens again to reveal a picnic with rain falling on it; a six-pack is placed alongside the food and the clouds suddenly give way to sunshine. The six-pack opens again to reveal a suitcase followed by a flying aircraft with a shamrock logo. Holidaymakers lie on a beach and pose for photographs, which are then seen in a photo album. The advert intercuts between various farm scenes and the Guinness pour. The farm scenes feature a harvester cutting through fields of barley, a grey horse in a fenced field, a man driving a horse and cart with oast houses in the background laden with filled burlap sacks of hops, two men cutting open one burlap sack labelled "Guinness" and emptying its contents. Animated colour television commercial for Guinness Extra Stout. Opens with title card reading: "Joop Geesink's Dollywood Presents 'Horse Sense' - colour by technicolour". Opens with shot of man's shoe and horse's hoof being cleaned. Horse is shown being awarded with several rosettes at a County Horse Show as his owner stands by. The owner is handed a trophy into which a bottle of Guinness is poured and from which he drinks. When he tries to lead his horse back to it's cart the horse refuses, so the man loads the horse into the cart and pulls it himself, to the astonishment of spectators. An RAF squadron sitting in an air base mess hall, enjoying a glass of Guinness, are alerted to approaching unidentified objects. When they race outside they discover that the 'objects' are five toucans flying in formation. The toucans dive bomb through the officers mess and emerge with two glasses of Guinness on each of their beaks, as officers exclaim "My Goodness". A large Mexican man next to him at the bar congratulates him on his choice and the tourist replies: "As we say, it's a drink and a half. The Mexican man and his associates misunderstand him and move to fight him, but another man enters and translates the real meaning to laughter all round. Another man looks at his watch and the Mexican group suddenly run out of the bar. The barman gets the tourist another drink revealing the Irish location by his accent in saying "Ah, these day-trippers. They're good for business but they lower the tone of the place you know."
